EchoVeil is designed to be private by default. Your audio never leaves your computer. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to validate license keys.
The EchoVeil Chrome extension captures audio from your browser tabs and sends it to a voice conversion server running locally on your own machine (localhost:8765). No audio data is ever transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.
When you activate a license key, the extension sends the following to our license validation API:
That's it. We do not collect:
The extension stores the following in Chrome's local storage (on your device only):
This data never leaves your browser. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you purchase a license, Stripe collects your payment information (name, email, card details) according to their own privacy policy. We receive only your email address and a confirmation that payment succeeded.
The extension itself makes no third-party requests other than license validation.
The EchoVeil server is open source under GPL v3. You can inspect the source code to verify that no audio data is collected or transmitted.
EchoVeil is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new "last updated" date.
